Carolyn Risley Named 2015 Volunteer of the Year
EMPORIA, KAN. – The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that Carolyn Risley has been named the 2015 Volunteer of the Year.
Carolyn is an active member of the Chamber and has played many roles including serving on the previous Business Symposium Committee and in securing speakers for the monthly Lunch and Learn Series. She currently sits on the Spirit/Hornet Rally Committee, Twinkies Festival Committee and is one of our newest members on the Chamber Board of Directors. Besides serving on these committee, she happily volunteers to help at event such as the Hornet Rally and Twinkies Festival
At each year’s end, the Chamber staff and Board members brainstorm and reflect on names of individuals who have done amazing volunteer work through tout this past year. Various names were discussed and we realize each year how truly blessed we are with the number of people who give their time to our organization.
The formal announcement of the 2015 Volunteer of the Year recipient, Carolyn Risley, will be at the Emporia Area Chamber’s 119th Annual Meeting on Friday, January 29, 2016. The same evening, awards will be given to the Business of the Year, Committee of the Year and for Lifetime Achievement.
