Emporia Chamber & League of Women Voters to Host Candidate Forums
The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Government Matters Committee and the League of Women Voters will be hosting two candidate forums for the upcoming general election. Both Forums will be held at the Flint Hills Technical College, 3301 W. 18th Ave., Emporia beginning at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, October 1, the Candidate Forum for Lyon County Commission will be held. Candidates for the Second District are: Ronald McCoy (D) and Doug Peck (R); and for the Third District are Bill Nienstedt (D) and Chris Bartel (R).
On Monday, October 7, the Candidate Forum for the Kansas Senate and House of Representative will be held. Candidates for the Kansas Senate District 17 are: Lillian Lingenfelter (D) and Mike Argabright (R). Candidates for the House of Representatives are District 13: Edgar Chrisman (D) and Duane Droge (R); District 60: Mic McGuire (D) and Mark Schreiber (R); and District 76: Brad Barrett (R).
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5. Advance voting will be available Oct. 16 to Nov. 4 at the Lyon County Clerk’s Office.
