KELLY MAYER NAMED 2013 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that Kelly Mayer has been named the 2013 Volunteer of the Year.

Kelly has been a great asset to the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce office this past year. She has been a very active Chamber member for several years as a Chamber Ambassador whom attends most of our ribbon cutting and one who always greets people as they arrive to our Business After Hours; She assists with our EASCAR event, by not only sitting on the committee, but playing a major role in the event itself, and this year she took on the role as Chair of the Annual Meeting Committee. We greatly appreciate all she does for us!

At each year’s end, the Chamber staff and Board members brainstorm and reflect on names of individuals who have done amazing volunteer work through tout this past year.  Various names were discussed and we realize each year how truly blessed we are with the number of people who give their time to our organization.

The formal announcement of the 2013 Volunteer of the Year recipient, Kelly Mayer, will be at the Emporia Area Chamber’s 117th Annual Meeting on Friday, January 24, 2014. The same evening, awards will be given to the Business of the Year, Committee of the Year and for Lifetime Achievement.
