Student Essay Contest Winners Announced — 235 Area Students Participated
EMPORIA, Kansas, November 5, 2021 – – 235 students in participating area schools submitted essays for this year’s All Veterans Tribute Student Essay Contest organized by Visit Emporia. The contest was held virtually for the second year and open to students in grades 5-12 in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties. The topic was “My Duty on Veterans Day.” A volunteer panel of judges made up of veterans and community volunteers, determined the winners. Winning entries will receive cash prizes for their essay.
A video presentation announcing the winners is posted on Visit Emporia’s Facebook page and www.visitemporia.com. This year’s winners are:
