2021 Emporia Fireworks Display

Fireworks will ignite the sky for Emporia’s annual patriotic celebration on Sunday, July 4, 2021, near the beautiful campus of Emporia State University.
There is no rain/weather date this year.

The best viewing area will be the seats in Welch Stadium. Tailgating will be allowed in the parking lots at Emporia State University. No alcoholic beverages or fireworks will be allowed on Emporia State University property.

The fireworks display is expected to start between 9:45 PM and 10:00 PM. It will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Please come out and enjoy the signature display put on by Bernie Toso and volunteers. Remember to bring something to drink, as temperatures are expected to be high.

Be sure to give a shout out to Mr. Toso for organizing such a spectacular (and free) show for our community. The Emporia Police Department, Emporia State University Police and Safety, Emporia Fire Department, and Lyon County Sheriff’s Office should also be recognized for providing a safe, family-friendly environment as well as medical, fire, and traffic support. To the numerous ‘behind the scenes’ folks working this holiday, thank you and Happy Independence Day!

An updated map will be released as soon as possible.
