2021 TOURISM GRANTS AWARDED
The Emporia Convention and Visitors Advisory Board (CVAB), awarded the final round of 2021 tourism grant requests at their August 16, 2021 meeting. Three organizations applied for funding prior to the August 1st deadline; National Teachers Hall of Fame, All Veterans Golf Tournament, and No Coast Film Festival.
The National Teachers Hall of Fame announced Monday that their induction ceremony scheduled for September 18 would once again be postponed another year. No grant dollars were awarded. CVAB awarded $200 to the All Veterans Golf Tournament and $2,000 to No Coast Film Festival.
Visit Emporia’s tourism grant program gives priority to events that are distinctive, create a positive energy, push average boundaries and most closely match the mission and goals of Visit Emporia. Preference is given to events geared towards overnight room stays and spring/fall/winter occupancy. Tourism grants are reimbursement grants and are not designed to cover the entire expense of the event.
