EMPORIA, KAN. – The Christmas Parade Committee of the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau announces that the 37th annual community Christmas Parade will be held downtown on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. The inclement weather date is on Thursday, December 2, 2014.
This year’s theme is “Holly-Dazzle.” How does your family, business, organization or sports team celebrate the holidays with a little Holiday Dazzle? Use your imagination, be creative and have fun!
Area businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to participate in the 2014 Christmas Parade. The evening will begin with a dedication and lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Cable ONE office at 714 Commercial. Festivities include a Christmas message, musical performances, and a lighting ceremony performed by City of Emporia Mayor Jon Geitz. The Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. at 4th Avenue, and proceed up Commercial Street to 12th Avenue.
Entry forms for the Christmas Parade can be picked up at the Chamber office in the Trusler Business Center, 719 Commercial or filled out on-line at www.emporiakschamber.org under the Chamber Services Tab on the home page.
Deadline for Christmas Parade entries is Monday, November 3, 2014.
