Dunham’s Sports Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening July 8

New Sporting Goods Store Opens in Flinthills Mall

 EMPORIA, KAN., June 28 – The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Ribbon Cutting for Dunham’s Sports on Friday, July 8, at 8:45 a.m.

Dunham’s Sports is located at 1632 Industrial Road in Emporia, at the Flinthills Mall North Entrance. The 34,000 square foot store will celebrate its Grand Opening at 9:00 a.m., immediately following the Ribbon Cutting.

Dunham’s Sports, one of the largest full-line sporting goods chains in the United States, was founded in 1937 as Dunham’s Bait & Tackle in Bloomfield, Michigan. Today, the chain has nearly 300 stores in 23 midwestern states from Maryland to Nebraska. The Emporia store is the 276th for Dunham’s Sports.

Merchandise at the new Emporia store includes a full line of traditional sporting goods and athletic equipment as well as a wide variety of active and casual sports apparel and footwear. The selection ranges from hunting and fishing to camping and running goods. The store also stocks fitness machines and equipment, both stick and disc golf items, and backyard games like cornhole and ladder balls. Additionally, the store features canoes, kayaks, firearms and ammunition.
