EMPORIA, KAN. – The Christmas Parade Committee of the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau announces that the 38th Annual Community Christmas Parade will be held downtown on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. The inclement weather date is on Thursday, December 3, 2015.
This year’s theme is “Holiday Glow.” What makes your holiday glow? How does your family, business, organization or sports team “glow” during the holidays? Use your imagination, be creative and have fun!
Area businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to participate in the 2015 Christmas Parade. The evening will begin with a dedication and lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Cable ONE office at 714 Commercial. Festivities include a Christmas message, musical performances, and a lighting ceremony performed by City of Emporia Mayor Danny Giefer. The Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. at 4th Avenue, and proceed up Commercial Street to 12th Avenue.
Entry forms for the Christmas Parade can be picked up at the the Trusler Business Center, 719 Commercial or filled out on-line at www.emporiakschamber.org under the “Our Chamber” tab on the home page.
Deadline for Christmas Parade entries is Friday, November 6, 2015.
