Deadline Approaching for Two Area Parades 

Two area parades have entry deadlines coming up on October 15.

The Dia de los Muertos Parade, also known as Day of the Dead, takes place Saturday, October 30, at 10:30 a.m. The Dia de los Muertos celebration, which is organized by Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow (H.O.T.T.), will be held in the 900 block of Commercial Street from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Entry forms for the parade can be found on the H.O.T.T. website, www.hottfiesta.com.

The 68th annual Veterans Day Parade, which is being organized by local VFW Post 1980 this year, takes place on November 11, at 9:30 a.m. Entry forms for the Veterans Day parade are online at www.visitemporia.com/veterans-parade-forms/ or you can stop by the Visit Emporia office at 719 Commercial Street and pick up a paper entry form.

Guidelines outlining what is expected for each parade are available and should be read prior to completing the entry form. Entry forms should be completed in full and delivered to their respective organizers by the October 15 deadline.
