Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce announces Mike Law as Head of EAC

Emporia, Kansas — The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Mike Law has accepted a two-year commitment to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing seasoned leadership, extensive community relationships, and a lifelong passion for advancing business and community success in Emporia and the surrounding region.

A native of Emporia and graduate of Emporia State University, Law returns to a community he has long championed through both his professional career and civic service. Over a distinguished career spanning more than six decades, he built a reputation as a respected broadcaster, business leader, entrepreneur, and community advocate. His leadership experience includes ownership and management roles in media organizations, service on numerous boards and committees, and a longstanding commitment to strengthening the communities he serves.

Law’s connection to Emporia extends well beyond his professional accomplishments. He has served on the Emporia State University Foundation Board of Trustees, the ESU School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Board in Kansas City while also contributing to major community and educational initiatives throughout the region. Law was honored by ESU as a Distinguished Alumni in 2016 and is a member of the Country Radio Hall of Fame, The Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and is honored as a Kansas City Media Legend. His dedication to leadership and service has earned recognition from both Emporia State University and the broadcasting industry, reflecting a career built on relationships, collaboration, and community impact.

As President & CEO, Law will focus on strengthening member engagement, supporting local businesses, fostering strategic partnerships, and positioning the Chamber as a catalyst for economic vitality and community progress. His approach emphasizes listening, accountability, innovation, and ensuring that the Chamber remains a trusted resource for businesses of all sizes.

For me, it all started in that little radio station in Soden’s Grove,” said Law. “This opportunity is about serving our members, supporting our business community, and helping create an environment where businesses, organizations, and families can thrive. I look forward to working alongside our members and partners to build momentum and create opportunities for the future. I also look forward to working with a number of lifelong friends and acquaintances to build a feeling of forward momentum.”

The Chamber Board expressed confidence that Law’s experience, leadership, and commitment to the community will provide continuity and vision as the organization advances its mission of supporting business growth and community prosperity.
