Emporia Celebrates 3rd Annual Twinkies Festival!

EMPORIA, KAN. – You may have heard . . . there is something sweet on the horizon!  We are only a few days away from the 3^rd Annual Twinkies Festival!

Hostess Brands LLC is a proud partner with the Twinkie Festival.  The Twinkies Festival will take place in Emporia on Saturday, July 18^th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We invite you to help Emporia celebrate the sugary confections that are made at the Hostess Brands, LLC flagship production facility.  The event will be held in the west parking lot of the Flinthills Mall (across from Hostess Brands, LLC.)  New to this year’s event is a 5K run that will take place at 7:30 a.m. before the general activities.  Join in the Twinkie eating challenge; costume contest and the recipe contest.  Make an item that includes Twinkies in the recipe, and bring the item for judges to taste along with the recipe.  You can even get your picture taken with Twinkie the Kid!  The days activities include:

7:00 a.m.     Twinkies Festival 5K registration

7:30 a.m.     Twinkies Festival 5K Run/Walk

9:00 a.m.     Twinkie the Kid Arrives

9:05 a.m.     WELCOME & 5K winner announcements/awards
9:15 a.m.     All Contest Check in and Registrations

9:30 a.m.     Twinkie Recipe Contest Judging

9:45 a.m.     Twinkie Costume Contest

10:30 a.m.   Twinkie Eating Contest (Youth Division and Adult Division)

11:45 a.m.   Award Ceremony
