Emporia Invites the Public to Provide Input

The planning process for the Imagine Emporia Together: Community Vision Plan is nearing an end and the public is invited to attend the last public meeting to provide input in the draft plan. The meeting is currently planned for Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Emporia High School, 3302 W. 18th Avenue. It is an open house meeting, so people are welcome to come and go anytime between that time period. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be postponed to Monday, February 8, 2016.

The public has been very engaged throughout this entire planning process and the feedback received is being used to shape the specific plan elements. This is an exciting time for Emporia and your input is greatly appreciated!

The City of Emporia continues its work to develop a vision for the community for the next ten years. The City is sponsoring the study which is partially funded with Federal funds from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. The purpose of the Imagine Emporia Together: Community Vision Plan is to examine all factors: quality of life, economic development and infrastructure to unite the community around a vision for Emporia.

The public is encouraged to keep up to date on the plan’s progress and by visiting www.imagineemporiatogether.com.
