Returns from Kansas Tourism Conference with Two Trophies
EMPORIA, Kansas, October 26, 2021 – – The Visit Emporia team returned from the annual Kansas Tourism Conference with two first place marketing awards. LeLan Dains and Kelly Mayer of Visit Emporia recently attended the Kansas Tourism Conference presented by the Kansas Tourism Office and the Travel Industry Association of Kansas. This year’s conference was held in Liberal and hosted by Visit Liberal. The Kansas Tourism Conference is a highlight of the year and offers inspiring speakers, networking opportunities and industry marketing awards.
All marketing award categories, except People’s Choice, are judged by a team of four marketing professionals. The Visit Emporia team was bestowed two first place awards. One in the medium budget category for Community Awareness and the other for the coveted People’s Choice award. People’s Choice is voted on by industry peers attending the conference. In both instances, Visit Emporia submitted their Visitors Guide distribution rack advertising their Trifecta and American to Vietnamese (foodie) ad campaigns.
Visit Emporia Director LeLan Dains says, “It’s always an honor to win any award. I think it is especially great when you can win something like the People’s Choice Award. When you can win against all other agencies across the state, regardless of size, it is a testament to the hard work of the Visit Emporia office.” The Kansas Tourism Conference moves around the State each year and will be held in Wichita in 2022.
