BUSINESS AFTER HOURS, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14, FROM 4:30 P.M – 6:30P.M.

EMPORIA, KAN. – The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau will host Business After Hours Thursday, November 14, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., sponsored by ValuNet FIBER at 2914 West, US-50 Suite A. According to the by-laws of the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce: At the November membership meeting, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce shall review the Nominating Committee report and ask those members in attendance if there are additional nominations to be submitted. If no additional nominations are submitted, a motion shall be requested to ratify the Nominating Committee’s list of candidates and those candidates shall be declared elected for a three (3) year term, beginning January 1, following election. In the event of additional nominations being made, a contest will be declared and members may vote by secret ballot for four (4) candidates in conformity with the rules and regulations as the Board of Directors may adopt. The President will appoint an official Judge’s Committee and they will be required to count the ballots within twenty-four (24) hours after the election. The five (5) candidates receiving the highest number of votes cast shall be declared elected for a three (3) year term, beginning January 1, following election. Should a tie occur, the judges shall cast lots and certify as elected the member or members on whom the selection falls.

The following members in good standing have been nominated to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors, and will be elected at the November Business After Hours, being held on November 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at ValuNet Fiber, located at 2914 West Highway 50, Suite A.

Business After Hours allows networking opportunity for Chamber members to meet each other and discuss their respective businesses. Non-member businesses interested in joining the Chamber of Commerce are invited to attend. A $5 donation for members and their guests, and an $8 donation for non-members will be accepted at the door.
